Client Success

Cadence is proud to share the following client success stories to further illustrate the value you can expect when you partner with Cadence.

Energy Commodity Procurement

In June, 2007, ComEd increased transmission rates by 52% and PJM increased capacity costs by almost 400%. Many suppliers bundled these components when bidding supply contracts, but did not guarantee them. Those agreements contained loop holes that allowed the suppliers to pass those increase on to their clients. Cadence provides Energy Commodity Procurement Consulting for a number of clients with facilities located within the ComEd and PJM service territories. For those clients, Cadence’s procurement staff required that all fees pertaining to supply, transmission, losses, ancillary, capacity and congestion be fixed and guaranteed for the term of the agreement. For one client, this professional diligence helped avoid unbudgeted increases that would have exceeded more than $125,000.

     Invoice Auditing

Recently a large box retailer saved over $20,788 on water and sewer expenses for a single site due to the experience and knowledge of a Cadence Invoice Auditor. During the first stage of our two stage audit process an invoice was identified for a higher than typical water expense.  Upon review, the auditor’s knowledge of the customer’s sites helped the facility manager determine that an underground leak was causing the excessive water usage. The Auditor facilitated the completion and delivery of all documentation to the water and sewer vendors so that the necessary repairs could be made.  Leveraging our two-stage closed-loop audit process, the Auditor was able to ensure that $11,317.87 for excessive water charges and $9,470.30 for excessive sewer charges were credited on the customer’s subsequent invoices.

Lease Auditing

Cadence provides lease auditing services for national small-box retailer who received actual hard-dollar recoveries in excess of $4 million during 2006-2007 due to the efforts of Cadence’s lease auditing team.

Budget Forecasting

In 2006, Cadence managed the utility budget for a medium-box retailer to within 1% of the budgeted figures (forecasted-to-actual) across a total, annual utility spend of $30 million.
